Plan Your I Will Find You Location Tour
Most of the series was shot in and around Toronto, which makes it surprisingly doable as a self-guided filming location tour. Kingston Penitentiary is about two and a half hours east of the city and worth pairing with a day trip, especially since it now operates as a proper tourist attraction with guided tours. The bulk of the Toronto locations, Dineen Coffee Co. on Yonge Street, the Student Learning Centre, the Windsor Arms Hotel in Yorkville, and the St. Lawrence rooftop chase block, are all walkable or a short transit ride apart, making them ideal stops on a single downtown day.
If you’re extending the trip to New York, the real landmarks used in the series are all in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Bethesda Terrace in Central Park, Washington Square Park, and Joe’s Pizza on Carmine Street sit within a reasonable distance of each other and are free to visit. Coney Island’s Riegelmann Boardwalk makes for a fun half-day addition if you’re curious about the real-world basis for that CGI Key West boardwalk scene.
One thing worth noting: several locations are private or functional buildings, 130 Merton Street, the McGill Street rowhouse, and Attica Correctional Facility are not open to visitors, so keep those as drive-by or street-view stops only. The Escarpment House in Caledon is the exception, it’s available as a vacation rental, so if you want to sleep inside Payne’s mansion, that’s actually an option.
