Where Was Crew Girl Filmed? A Complete Location Guide

Eagle’s Cove, the prep-school town at the center of Crew Girl, does not exist. The Netflix series is set in Massachusetts but was shot on the other side of the continent, in and around Victoria on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Production ran from early September to late November 2025, and the eight episodes arrived on September 10, 2026. The show has since been renewed for a second season.

The story follows Teagan Tao (Miku Martineau), a gifted rower who ends up as the coxswain of an elite boys’ crew after a family scandal. That means a lot of the show was filmed on real water, and several of the places you see are open to visitors.

Below are the locations, roughly in order of first appearance and spoiler-free. At the end you’ll find a short route for planning your own trip.

Crew Girl Filming Locations

Selkirk Waterfront and the Gorge Waterway (Victoria)

Selkirk Waterfront and the Gorge Waterway (Victoria)

Context in the Drama: The California Championship Regatta at the start of the series was filmed here, with the Gorge Narrows Rowing Club on screen. The Gorge also doubles for the water where the Easton crew races, and the later Head of the Laurence Regatta returns to it.

Exact Address & Location Link: Selkirk Waterfront, Victoria, BC View on Google Maps

Traveler’s Note: The Gorge is a tidal inlet that runs inland from Victoria’s Upper Harbour. Two landmarks frame the view:

  • Selkirk Trestle: a wooden bridge about 300 meters long, now part of the Galloping Goose Regional Trail. It carries only pedestrians and cyclists, so you can walk or ride across it.
  • Point Ellice Bridge (Bay Street Bridge): it links Victoria West with the Rock Bay area. An earlier version of the bridge collapsed in 1896, one of the worst disasters in the city’s history.

Eagle’s Cove, Massachusetts (Aerial Shots)

Context in the Drama: Two aerial shots establish the fictional town. Neither was filmed in Canada.

Exact Address & Location Link: State Street, Newburyport, Massachusetts View on Google Maps

Traveler’s Note: The first shows downtown Newburyport looking down State Street toward the Merrimack River. The second is reused stock footage of Manheim, Pennsylvania, a farming borough known for its small-town feel. Everything on the ground in Eagle’s Cove was filmed on Vancouver Island.

More Spots Confirmed by Netflix

These appear in Netflix’s official list of Vancouver Island locations. We haven’t matched them to specific scenes yet.

Hamsterly Beach (Saanich)

How Crew Girl Filmed Its Rowing Scenes

The races took some engineering. The crew strapped a full-length eight-person boat, about 67 feet long, to a large camera barge that carried the crew and equipment. It towed the actors at roughly 10 km/h for close-ups, and drones covered the shots where the cast rowed on their own. Showrunner Vivian Lin says it was the first Canadian production to film eight-person rowing sequences, and the regatta scenes featured as many as five boats at once.

Planning a Crew Girl Trip
