The distance between them keeps widening with every episode, and I have a sneaking suspicion Clark is sitting on a crush for her that he hasn’t quite admitted to yet, even to himself.

On a brighter note, the mini Magnolias scenes continue to be a highlight, and this episode finally makes it clear where Annie’s heart actually lies. Between Noah and Blake, Noah is simply the better match for her, they share the same interests, and their conversations carry a depth that just isn’t there with Blake. Watching Annie work up the nerve to ask him out felt earned, not rushed, which is more than I can say for some of the other storylines this season.

As for Courtney and the missing money? I’ll be blunt: this whole subplot feels like a stretch.
