Reborn Rookie Episode 10 Recap: Yong-ho Uncovers the Truth Behind the Hospital Murder

Reborn Rookie Episode 10 keeps pushing the mystery forward while adding another layer to the ongoing battle over Choiseong’s hydrogen technology. As alliances shift and long-buried secrets begin to surface, Yong-ho finally pieces together what really happened on the night of his death. At the same time, Bang-geul refuses to give up on uncovering Jun-hyeon’s true intentions, even if every lead seems to disappear before she can get answers.

Yong-ho Tries to Push Bang-geul Away

The episode opens with Yong-ho discovering that Bang-geul and her mother have moved into the apartment next door to Jun-hyeon and Sun-ok. He immediately objects and even tries to keep them from moving in, but Sun-ok welcomes them anyway.

His attitude doesn’t improve the next morning. When Bang-geul asks for a ride to Choiseong, Yong-ho bluntly refuses, convinced she’s trying to plant a listening device in his car. He even tells her he has bought the apartment she’s renting and demands that she move out. Left with no other option, Bang-geul runs all the way to work.

At the office, Yong-ho gives Bang-geul, Bong-ki, and Sang-jae a mountain of difficult assignments, clearly hoping they’ll crack under the pressure. Instead, Bang-geul tackles every task without complaint. Rather than discouraging her, the workload only proves how determined she has become.

Frustrated, Yong-ho tells Sang-jae to make sure Bang-geul resigns and leaves for the United States with Sun-hee.

The Search for the Missing CCTV Evidence

While Bang-geul focuses on surviving work, Yong-ho and Sang-jae continue investigating the missing hospital surveillance footage.

Sang-jae suggests releasing the remaining CCTV footage to frame Jae-gyeong as Yong-ho’s killer since she was the last known person to visit him before his death. Yong-ho refuses to jump to that conclusion, insisting they still lack proof that she actually committed the murder. Their attention shifts toward the CCTV operator responsible for deleting the recordings. Sang-jae reveals that the man has disappeared into hiding.

Meanwhile, Secretary Yoo informs Jae-gyeong about the operator’s disappearance. She orders him to contact the man and make sure every remaining piece of evidence is destroyed before it can cause problems.

Later, Yong-ho visits Jae-gyeong to discuss Byung-mo’s attempt to acquire Choiseong’s hydrogen project. She delays the deal for another week because she wants to keep control of the core hydrogen technology until Taeha fulfills its promises. As Yong-ho leaves her office, he notices the CCTV operator’s identification displayed on Jae-gyeong’s tablet. Realizing she’s connected to the missing witness, he immediately orders Sang-jae to locate him.

A Dangerous Meeting Exposes New Alliances

That night, Yong-ho tracks the CCTV operator to a gaming café. Unable to unlock the man’s phone after secretly taking it during a distraction, Yong-ho responds to one of Secretary Yoo’s messages instead. Pretending to be the operator, he arranges a cash exchange in person.

The plan doesn’t unfold the way he expects.

Instead of Jae-gyeong or Secretary Yoo appearing, Yong-ho spots Byung-mo’s secretary waiting at the meeting location. The CCTV operator never arrives, leading Yong-ho to conclude that Byung-mo and Jae-gyeong are working together behind the scenes.

The next day brings another complication. Secretary Yoo informs Jae-gyeong that he managed to stop a news article containing CCTV screenshots that showed her entering and leaving Yong-ho’s hospital room before his death became public.

Bang-geul and Jae-seong discuss the leaked story until Jae-gyeong storms into the office. Furious, she accuses Jae-seong of working against her alongside Bang-geul. After receiving a phone call, she abruptly leaves, avoiding Yong-ho on her way out.

When Bang-geul later asks Yong-ho whether he knows who leaked the CCTV images, he refuses to answer.

Byung-mo Shows His True Colors

One of the episode’s strongest scenes comes when Jae-gyeong secretly meets Byung-mo.

He demands the remaining hydrogen technology without paying the balance he owes. To force her cooperation, he threatens to release an audio recording of Jae-gyeong and Jae-seong discussing her attempt to smother Yong-ho.

Jae-gyeong insists she never killed her father.

A flashback finally reveals what happened after she entered Yong-ho’s hospital room. After noticing the hidden camera, she immediately left without harming him. That realization makes her question whether Byung-mo murdered Yong-ho instead.

She never gets the chance to investigate further.

The CCTV operator appears and attempts to blackmail her, but before he can collect anything, Byung-mo has him killed right in front of her. It’s a chilling reminder that Byung-mo has no hesitation eliminating anyone who becomes inconvenient.

Later, Jae-gyeong meets Jun-hyeon, who is still inhabited by Yong-ho’s soul, at a church. She admits that Byung-mo killed the CCTV operator, confirms the surveillance footage has been destroyed, and asks for help bringing him down. Yong-ho agrees to work with her to gather evidence.

Bang-geul and Jae-seong Break Into Byung-mo’s House

Byung-mo continues tightening his grip on Choiseong. He pressures Jae-gyeong to transfer ownership of the company’s core hydrogen technology without making the remaining payment she requested. She refuses to give in immediately, buying herself more time.

At the same time, Eun-se introduces her father to Choiseong’s board, where Byung-mo proposes a partnership between Taeha Group and Choiseong.

Elsewhere, Jae-seong informs Bang-geul that Byung-mo was responsible for tipping reporters about the CCTV story. Hoping to uncover stronger evidence, the pair secretly enter Byung-mo’s home looking for a flash drive containing the missing hospital footage.

They come up empty-handed.

Instead, they steal documents related to the hydrogen project before quietly leaving. On the way out, they unexpectedly see Byung-mo meeting Jun-hyeon, leaving both of them confused about what is really happening.

Meanwhile, Sun-hee notices Suk-do leaving the property carrying a large supply of medication and quietly follows him.

Yong-ho Finally Solves the Hospital Murder

Inside Byung-mo’s house, Yong-ho pretends he wants revenge against Jae-gyeong for destroying Jun-hyeon’s football career. He offers Byung-mo the hydrogen technology as proof of his loyalty, hoping to gain his trust.

Although Byung-mo refuses to fully accept him, the meeting gives Yong-ho an important clue. He notices Eun-se limping. Combined with a conversation he previously had with a hospital nurse, everything suddenly falls into place.

A flashback reveals the missing piece of the puzzle. After Jae-gyeong left Yong-ho’s hospital room, Eun-se disguised herself as her sister-in-law, disconnected Yong-ho’s ventilator, and injured her ankle while escaping.

For the first time, Yong-ho believes he has identified the person who actually attempted to kill him.

Bang-geul Gets Closer to the Truth

Back at the rooftop apartment, Jae-seong apologizes to Sun-hee for the way he treated her in the past while discussing Byung-mo’s growing influence within Choiseong.

When Sun-hee asks who leaked the CCTV article, Bang-geul quickly changes the subject before Jae-seong can answer. Later, Bang-geul begins investigating Jun-hyeon on her own.

She searches his car only to discover both the driving history and dashcam recordings have already been erased. She goes through the apartment’s trash while Sun-hee distracts Yong-ho, then searches his bedroom and computer.

Every trail comes up empty.

The following day, Bang-geul shares her frustration with Bong-ki and Sang-jae. Bong-ki admits he even wrote Jun-hyeon a heartfelt letter in hopes of softening him, while Bang-geul insists he’s every bit as cold as her late father.

Sang-jae disagrees.

He reveals that Yong-ho quietly protected Bang-geul throughout her childhood far more than she ever realized. Hearing that side of her father leaves Bang-geul visibly emotional.

It was one of those quieter scenes that landed surprisingly well. After so much conflict between them, learning that Yong-ho had always been looking out for her gives their relationship a little more emotional weight.

A Mission Ends in Disaster

Sun-hee later remembers Sun-ok mentioning the Daesan Hydrogen Complex and believes Jun-hyeon can be found there. Bang-geul rushes to the facility just as Yong-ho appears ready to hand over the hydrogen core component to Taeha Group.

In reality, Yong-ho is secretly searching the building for the hospital’s missing CCTV records. Before he can finish, he suddenly suffers a heart attack.

Sang-jae quickly warns him that Bang-geul and Bong-ki have entered the complex. Bang-geul rushes toward Yong-ho, but Byung-mo’s secretary attacks her, steals Yong-ho’s device, and escapes.

Bang-geul hits her head during the struggle and loses consciousness. Yong-ho immediately carries her to the hospital while Bong-ki desperately calls for help.

The episode closes on another unexpected twist. At a secluded cottage, Jae-seong and Suk-do watch over Yong-ho’s original body, which finally begins showing signs of waking up.

Review: The Mystery Finally Starts Paying Off

Episode 10 feels much tighter than some of the earlier chapters because several mysteries finally begin connecting. The biggest reveal isn’t simply that Eun-se was involved at the hospital, it’s watching Yong-ho slowly assemble the clues himself instead of having the answer handed to him. That payoff made the investigation feel much more satisfying.

Byung-mo also becomes even more dangerous here. Ordering the CCTV operator’s murder without hesitation makes it clear he’s willing to remove anyone standing in his way. Every scene involving him carries genuine tension because there’s always the sense that someone could become his next target.

I also liked seeing Bang-geul refuse to back down despite Yong-ho doing everything possible to push her away. She keeps searching for the truth, even when every piece of evidence disappears before she can grab it. Her persistence makes her one of the easiest characters to root for.

The ending raises another intriguing question with Yong-ho’s original body beginning to wake up. Since Yong-ho’s soul still occupies Jun-hyeon’s body, the series now has to address what happens if the original body recovers before Jun-hyeon’s soul finds its way back. That supernatural thread has been hanging over the story since the beginning, and with only a few episodes left, it finally feels like Reborn Rookie is getting ready to answer it.
