You don’t need a passport stamp from Korea to stand where Park Eun-bin and Yang Se-jong actually filmed Spooky in Love. Ironically, the most walkable, easiest-to-recreate stretch of the entire drama’s filming map isn’t in Seoul or Jeju at all, it’s a single afternoon loop around Marina Bay, Singapore.
Here’s how to turn the two confirmed filming spots into a proper half-day out, icons included.
The Itinerary
3:00 PM – Start at Lau Pa Sat
Begin at the octagonal Victorian hall itself. Even outside of satay hours, the architecture is worth the visit on its own, a National Monument built in 1894, all red cast iron and clock tower. Grab an early snack here before the crowds build.
3:45 PM – Walk to Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade
It’s a 15-minute walk from Lau Pa Sat to the promenade. Take it slow, this stretch is where the second confirmed filming scene happened, and it’s also simply one of the best free views in the city.
4:30 PM – Loop past Merlion Park
Not a confirmed filming spot, but it sits directly across the water from Marina Bay Sands and takes only a short detour along the same promenade. Worth it for the classic photo.
5:00 PM – Gardens by the Bay
A few minutes further along, behind Marina Bay Sands. The Supertree Grove starts lighting up as the sun goes down, which lines up nicely with the next stop.
6:30 PM – Sunset over the promenade
Loop back toward the promenade for golden hour. This is when the skyline lighting hits its peak and the whole bay turns into the kind of shot that made this stretch worth filming in the first place.
7:30 PM – Dinner back at Lau Pa Sat
End where you started. Boon Tat Street closes to traffic in the evening and turns into Satay Street, easily the best way to close out the loop. Beyond satay, Lau Pa Sat’s hawker stalls are known for carrot cake (the fried radish-cake version, not dessert), oyster omelette, and char kway teow, so it’s worth coming hungry.
Short on Time? The Two-Hour Version
If half a day isn’t realistic, cut it down to the two confirmed filming spots only: Lau Pa Sat, then the 15-minute walk to Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade, timed for golden hour around 6:30 PM. You’ll still get both filming locations and the best light on the skyline, just without Merlion Park or Gardens by the Bay.
Prefer Mornings? Flip the Order
Everything above works just as well run in reverse starting around 9:00 AM: Gardens by the Bay first while it’s cooler and less crowded, then Merlion Park, the promenade, and finish at Lau Pa Sat for a late lunch instead of dinner. You’ll miss the Supertree light show, which only runs in the evening, but you’ll dodge the midday heat during the walking stretch.
Getting There From Popular Hotel Areas
- From Orchard Road: Take the MRT to Raffles Place (around 15–20 minutes), which puts you a short walk from Lau Pa Sat to start the loop.
- From Marina Bay Sands or CBD hotels: You’re already within walking distance of the promenade, so it makes sense to start there and work backward to Lau Pa Sat.
- From Sentosa or the west side: Budget closer to 30–40 minutes via MRT with a transfer, so plan to arrive slightly later in the itinerary window.
Rough Budget
- Transport (MRT both ways): roughly SGD 4–6 per person
- Hawker food at Lau Pa Sat (two rounds, snack and dinner): roughly SGD 15–25 per person
- Everything else on the route (promenade, Merlion Park, Gardens by the Bay outdoor gardens) is free
- Total for the day, food included: roughly SGD 20–30 per person, not counting the Supertree Grove’s paid attractions if you decide to go inside
If It Rains
Marina Bay’s covered walkways connect much of this route, including the underpass linking Gardens by the Bay to the Bayfront area, so a light shower won’t derail things. Lau Pa Sat itself is fully covered. The main casualty is the open-air promenade walk, in that case, shorten your time there and spend the extra hour inside The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, which sits right along the same route.

- Nearest MRT stations: Raffles Place or Downtown for Lau Pa Sat, Bayfront or Marina Bay for the promenade.
- Everything on this route is free except food.
