I still can’t get over the stoning scene. Let’s talk about it.
Okay so this episode really said “no more slow burn,” huh? “Rocked” is the episode where Neagley finally starts connecting the dots on the pharma conspiracy, Keno’s rescue mission goes sideways in the worst way, and Judith learns exactly what happens when you cross Lawrence Cole. Spoiler: it’s not pretty. Grab your tea, because this one moves fast.
Young Neagley and the Van
Neagley Season 1 Episode 6 open on a flashback. Young Neagley is being lured toward a stranger’s van, and the guy’s excuse is that he wants to show her some books inside. I don’t need to spell out what’s actually going on here. It’s unsettling on purpose, and it’s clearly setting up something bigger about her past that the show still hasn’t fully unpacked.
Pierce Gets Rattled
Back in the present, Neagley and Riley are playing a patience game. They sit back and watch Pierce wake up to find a note letting him know Neagley is onto him, and that his boss now knows there’s a leak. Pierce, understandably freaking out, calls his boss immediately.
Here’s the fun part: Neagley and Riley are parked nearby, listening to the entire call. They’ve also slapped a tracker on Pierce’s car, because at this point they need to know exactly how far up this conspiracy goes.
Keno’s Rescue Attempt Begins
Over at Echo Canyon, Keno is still stuck in the middle of things when Renee shows up in disguise to pull him out. But Keno’s not budging. Mandy’s been taken, and he’s not leaving without her.
Renee, ever the tactician, pulls out the schematics. There’s an alternate way in through a ventilation shaft about 300 yards out in the woods. It’s risky, but it’s a way into the Silo. Her price for the intel? Pictures and updates on what’s happening inside.
Gerry’s Widow Shows Up
Back at the PI office, Neagley and Riley are trying to dig up everything they can on Pierce and his pharmaceutical connections when Gerry’s wife walks in, worried sick about her husband. Awkward doesn’t even begin to cover it, since Gerry is already dead.
Turns out Gerry told his wife that Neagley was the best PI he’d ever worked with. That hits Neagley harder than she expected. She agrees to “look into it” for the widow, which is a half-truth wrapped in guilt, but it also gives her a convenient excuse to clear the office out and keep working the real case.
Lawrence Cole Shows His True Colors
Meanwhile, down in the commune, Lawrence Cole’s serum experiments are working a little too well. One of his followers has been so thoroughly “re-rooted” that he’s now convinced marriage is a false relationship, and that Cole should sleep with his wife. Yeah. It’s as disturbing as it sounds.
Judith watches all of this happen and she’s horrified. She genuinely believes Cole is going to destroy the flock he built, but Lawrence is fully convinced he’s doing the right thing. This is the moment where you can tell their partnership is about to crack.
The Pinnacle Therapeutics Trail
Neagley and Riley’s investigation into the pharmaceutical angle takes them to Hamilton, where they learn about a journalist named Dottie who was digging into the exact same case before she died.
The company at the center of it all is Pinnacle Therapeutics. Officially, they made ADHD medication. Unofficially, a disturbing number of kids who took it ended up committing suicide. Then the clinic just vanished overnight, like it never existed.
Dottie herself was burned alive, and all her research was destroyed with her.
On the drive to her place, Neagley and Riley open up a little about their pasts. Riley finally admits something big: he was warned as a kid to stay away from Neagley, because her father had a reputation for being dirty, and for killing someone. Given everything we’ve seen in the flashbacks, this lands with real weight.
The Evidence Box
At Dottie’s burned-out house, they find a hidden ventilation shaft hiding a metal box stuffed with evidence. Naturally, that’s when three goons show up to make sure they never leave with it.
Neagley and Riley handle themselves fine, obviously, and in the process they learn something important: Pierce is the one paying these guys to silence anyone getting too close to the truth.
Keno Gets Caught
Back at the Silo, Keno is crawling through the vents, snapping pictures of cages full of people and guards patrolling the halls. He’s told there’s no signal to send anything out, which makes the next scene sting a little, because we cut straight to Judith on the phone with Pierce, quietly trying to cut a deal to remove Lawrence from power since she thinks he’s lost the plot.
Keno finds Mandy and explains the plan to get her out. He goes dark, just like Renee told him to. It goes about as well as you’d expect: he gets caught, his phone gets smashed, and worst of all, it turns out Mandy is the one who ratted him out.
Judith’s Brutal Ending
This is where the episode turns genuinely dark. Cole finds out about Judith’s betrayal, and he decides it needs to be dealt with publicly. She’s wheeled out in front of the entire commune while Pierce watches, powerless, as she’s stoned to death.
It’s a gut-punch of a scene, and honestly one of the more brutal moments the show has done so far.
Riley’s Family Secret
To close things out, Riley finds a photo of his father’s boat buried in Dottie’s evidence stash. That means he’s going to have to face his dad directly and figure out how deep his father’s connection to the child testing actually goes.
My Thoughts on “Rocked”
Neagley Season 1 Episode 6 does a good job tightening the screws on the Pinnacle Therapeutics conspiracy without giving away too much too soon. We still don’t know exactly who’s really pulling the strings above Pierce, and I appreciate that the show is holding that card close instead of rushing the reveal.
Keno’s arc continues to be the “ignore every warning and pay for it” storyline, and honestly, I saw the Mandy betrayal coming from a mile away, but it still stung. There’s also a small detail I loved: Renee tells Keno she can’t receive any signal from him, and the very next scene is Judith calling Pierce from underground. Either the writers were being cheeky on purpose, or the Silo’s signal situation is wildly inconsistent. I’m choosing to believe it’s the former.
Lawrence Cole is proving to be a much scarier character than his laid-back cult-leader vibe initially suggested. We already knew there was more going on beneath the surface, but the ending here shows just how far he’s willing to go when someone challenges him.
As for Neagley and Riley, their relationship keeps deepening, and it’s becoming clear that both of their arcs are tied to unresolved issues with their fathers. Whether solving this case actually gives either of them closure is still up in the air, but that personal thread is quickly becoming one of the more compelling parts of the show.

“Rocked” earns its title. Between Judith’s fate and Keno’s betrayal, this episode raised the stakes in a way that finally makes the endgame feel close.
