Back in the present day, Anand corners Nandita at a restaurant to figure out what the heck is going on. That is when Nandita drops another major truth bomb on him. She reveals that Neha is actually the biological product of that one passionate night they shared on the train. She also lets him know that she never got married and has been solo this entire time.
Later that night, while the house is quiet, Nandita opens up to Anand and fills in the blanks about her dark past.

In another tragic flashback, we find out what happened after Nandita vanished from the train. She returned home to Banaras, where her traditional and strict father (Mohan Joshi) had already arranged a marriage for her with a guy named Rahul, who was visiting from London.

When her father found out, he went absolutely ballistic. Enraged by the family shame, he immediately called off the wedding with Rahul. By the time Nandita finally returned to India, her father had passed away. Free from his control, she immediately dedicated her life to tracking down her lost daughter, which eventually led her straight to Delhi, and right to Kavita and Anand’s doorstep.
The Ultimate Betrayal and a Family Broken
Back in the present, the emotional weight of the past becomes too much for Anand and Nandita. Overcome with grief and old feelings, Anand holds a crying Nandita in a comforting embrace.
But guess who walks in? Kavita.
Seeing her husband holding another woman in the middle of the night completely breaks her. When the full truth about Anand and Nandita’s past relationship comes to light, Kavita feels utterly betrayed. Devastated and unable to cope with the lies, she packs her bags, takes Neha, and leaves Anand to go stay with her ride-or-die best friend, Somu Dutt (Chandrachur Singh).

Even so, the primal urge of a biological mother is strong, and Nandita admits how much she aches to hold Neha as her own.
This sends Kavita into a total emotional spiral. She breaks down crying in Anand’s arms, begging him to promise that they won’t lose Neha to Nandita. But Anand is paralyzed by guilt and responsibility; he simply cannot make that promise.

That evening, Anand and Kavita are shocked when Neha returns home safely. Along with the little girl, they find a recorded audio tape left behind by Nandita.
