The Story

Park Hae-gang (Ji Sung) is a former boss of the Oasis gang who suddenly needs a massive amount of money to help Yong-man, a father figure from his past. His solution: run for president of his apartment complex’s residents’ representative council, so he can get his hands on the building’s long-term repair reserve fund, a pool of money residents pay into every month for future maintenance and safety work.

What starts as a selfish money grab spirals into something bigger. As Hae-gang clashes with residents and digs deeper into the complex’s finances, he uncovers real corruption buried inside the building’s management. His fight to protect “his money” turns into a fight that ends up protecting his neighbors instead, and he becomes a reluctant local hero in the process.

Screenwriter Kim Yoon-young has said she built the story around a fund most apartment residents pay into every month without fully understanding, the long-term repair reserve fund is real, and in real life it’s protected by strict legal procedures that make it very difficult to steal.
