Based on the novel The Murderer’s Shopping Mall (살인자의 쇼핑몰) by Kang Ji-young. This is the second season of the series that first aired on Disney+ in January 2024.
Synopsis
Jung Ji-an is now the CEO of Murthehelp, the underground shopping mall she inherited after a brutal succession battle. Her uncle, Jung Jin-man, has returned from the dead, and together they launch a full counterattack against Babylon, the global mercenary organization that’s been closing in on everything Ji-an has left. Season 2 widens the scope considerably: new international assassins, a mole inside Murthehelp, a mercenary’s devastating betrayal, and a war that eventually spills out of Korea and into Bangkok. By the finale, alliances shift, the body count climbs, and the season closes with an uneasy ceasefire that leaves the door open for exactly what’s next.

Will There Be a Season 3?
This is the question every fan is asking the moment the credits rolled on Episode 8, and the honest answer right now is: nobody knows yet, not even the cast.
In a July 23, 2026 interview promoting Season 2, Lee Dong-wook was asked directly about Season 3 plans. His response was blunt: “There are absolutely none.” He went on to explain that a renewal isn’t something that happens just because the cast wants it to, and that it will ultimately come down to how well Season 2 performs. He also mentioned he hasn’t privately discussed a third season with director Lee Kwon, joking that even if he brought it up, the director’s response would just be that it’s not his call to make. Still, Lee left a little room for hope, adding that the director might have something in mind, and confirmed he’d return without hesitation if the show does get renewed.
That lines up with what’s publicly confirmed elsewhere: Disney+ has not announced a Season 3 renewal as of this writing. That’s not unusual, streaming platforms typically wait until a season’s full viewership and completion-rate data comes in before making a call, and that process can take weeks or months after a finale airs.
That said, the ending itself does a lot of quiet groundwork for more story. Season 2 closes with a ceasefire between Murthehelp and Babylon rather than total victory, Chen explicitly warns that peace only holds “for as long as he’s in charge,” and Q, who could easily have been killed off, walks away alive with her loyalties clearly shifting. Fan reviews on MyDramaList have picked up on exactly this, pointing out that the ceasefire framing leaves plenty of room for new factions, new conflicts, and potentially Q re-entering the story as an ally rather than an enemy. Combined with Season 2’s strong scores and Season 1’s 100% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the appetite for more is clearly there. Whether Disney+ agrees is, for now, still an open question.
Why It’s Worth Watching
What makes Season 2 work is that it doesn’t just repeat what made Season 1 popular, it genuinely expands the world. Bringing Babylon’s East Asia branch into focus, introducing Kusanagi as a genuinely unhinged, unpredictable antagonist, and splitting time between a quiet island romance and a globe-spanning conspiracy shouldn’t work as well as it does, but the season mostly pulls it off. Kim Hye-jun in particular carries a huge amount of the season’s emotional weight, and her transformation from Season 1’s reluctant survivor to Season 2’s decisive, gun-wielding CEO is one of the most satisfying arcs in recent K-drama memory.
It’s not flawless. The finale in particular trades some of the show’s usual scale for a tighter, more contained confrontation, and a few emotional threads (Pasin’s death chief among them) don’t get the space they probably deserved. But as an action-thriller that takes real risks with its structure and its cast, Season 2 earns its spot as one of 2026’s most talked-about K-dramas.
Watch it if you like: Agent Kim Reactivated, Vincenzo, Kill It, or any thriller that treats its action sequences as seriously as its plotting.
