This small clue leads her to investigate her past address, marking the first real step in her independent search for the truth.
At the same time, the police receive a forensic report about the villa fire. Detective Jeong-rok becomes convinced that the fire was not an accident but a calculated attempt to cover up a murder. This reinforces the idea that Myo-jin’s memory loss is tied to something much darker.
Jun-ho, meanwhile, is chasing a different opportunity. He meets Judge Oh Sang-il to secure a place in a museum competition. Despite lacking credentials, Jun-ho manages to persuade him, largely thanks to the unexpected mention of Chairman Choi. This connection raises further questions about Jun-ho’s past and his ties to powerful figures.
Myo-jin’s investigation leads her to a familiar yet forgotten place, an art studio she once ran with Hee-su. A delivery man recognizes her and casually reveals that the two were close friends, contradicting what Jun-ho later claims. Inside the studio, fragments of memory return. A beach, a conversation about building a villa, and repeated questions about Chairman Choi’s return all hint at a deeper story linking the characters together.
Things take a sharper turn when Myo-jin encounters the thief who stole her bag. In a brief but revealing interaction, he mentions a rumor that Jun-ho killed Chairman Choi. He also points out that Myo-jin does not actually live where Jun-ho said she did. These contradictions begin to pile up, making it increasingly difficult for her to trust him.
That night, Jun-ho attempts to regain control of the narrative. He apologizes and offers a revised version of the truth, claiming that Myo-jin and Hee-su had a falling out. Myo-jin pretends to accept this explanation, but internally, she recognizes the inconsistency. Elsewhere, new players quietly enter the story. A mysterious old man appears, and Jong-su, a figure tied to the criminal underworld, is reintroduced. These brief scenes suggest a wider network of connections that has yet to fully unfold.
The next day, Myo-jin returns to the villa and uncovers more painful truths. Hee-su and her father both died in the fire. At a nearby restaurant, she learns that she had rushed there after receiving an urgent call. This detail leads her to Sang-ho, a private investigator she had hired before losing her memory.
Through Sang-ho, a clearer picture begins to form. Myo-jin had been investigating Jong-su, who once worked for Chairman Choi before becoming a gangster. More importantly, Jong-su had been threatening Hee-su. This revelation connects the fire, the murder, and Myo-jin’s forgotten actions into a single, tangled thread.
Back at home, Myo-jin meets Ri-ah, who claims to be her friend. In reality, Ri-ah is working for Jun-ho, tasked with monitoring Myo-jin’s movements. Along with Wo-sik, she plans to exploit Myo-jin’s condition. During a night out at a club, another memory surfaces, Myo-jin saving Hee-su from an assault. This moment not only shows their genuine bond but also contradicts Jun-ho’s claim that they were never close.
By the end of the episode, Myo-jin returns home and continues writing in her journal, trying to hold onto the fragments she has recovered. Her journey is no longer passive; she is actively piecing together a version of the truth that others seem determined to hide.
Meanwhile, Jun-ho meets with the doctor in private, questioning whether Myo-jin might be faking her amnesia. The conversation is tense and revealing.
