The plan to frame Max with a drug stash was shaky from the start, and looping in someone as unpredictable as Brandon to help hold that story together was never going to end well. It’s the kind of decision that makes you want to shout at the screen.
That said, this chapter moves fast, and the pacing does a lot of heavy lifting to smooth over some of the more obvious plot holes. Things happen so quickly, one bombshell after another, that you don’t have much time to sit and question the logic before the next crisis hits. The pool discovery alone would’ve carried a slower episode, but here it’s just the opening act.
What really stands out is how the show keeps peeling back layers of Anna’s past. The reveal about her drink with Max while she was still engaged to Paul, and the lingering uncertainty over Nat’s paternity, finally gives weight to why Max has been so fixated on this family all season. It’s not just menace for menace’s sake anymore.
